Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on changing patterns of thinking and behavior to help individuals overcome mental health challenges. It is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and by identifying and challenging negative thought patterns, individuals can learn healthier ways of coping with their problems.

Prolonged Exposure (PE)

Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy is a treatment for PTSD where individuals gradually confront and process traumatic memories. This exposure, done over time, helps reduce avoidance and fear responses. It involves education about trauma, breathing techniques for anxiety management, and gradually facing trauma-related situations to reduce symptoms and improve well-being.

exposure and response prevention

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a therapeutic technique primarily used to treat anxiety disorders, particularly Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). The goal of ERP is to help individuals confront their fears and learn that they can tolerate anxiety without resorting to compulsive behaviors. Over time, repeated exposure to anxiety-provoking situations without performing the compulsions leads to a decrease in anxiety and a reduction in the need to engage in compulsive behaviors.
